Qatar has firmly denied accusations from Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu, who claimed that the Gulf nation is orchestrating a campaign to sway global opinion against Israel. The allegations were made by Netanyahu during his recent address to the United Nations General Assembly.
Responding to these claims, Qatar’s Foreign Ministry spokesperson, Majed bin Mohammed Al Ansari, stated that the accusations are an attempt to distract from Israel’s actions and policies in the occupied Palestinian territories, along with their humanitarian repercussions. Al Ansari emphasized that Qatar rejects these allegations, pointing out that shifts in global public opinion are driven by the events people witness directly, rather than any campaign led by Qatar.
Al Ansari urged Israel to reconsider its policies, adhere to international law, and take responsibility for the consequences of its actions. He suggested that instead of attributing criticism to Qatar or other nations, Israel should focus on addressing the underlying issues that have drawn international scrutiny.
