NVIDIA CEO Jensen Huang has proposed transforming Kazakhstan into a global hub for physical artificial intelligence (AI), following discussions with Kazakh President Kassym-Jomart Tokayev in Astana on October 23. This proposal aligns with Kazakhstan’s ambition to bolster its position in AI and digital technologies.
During the meeting, President Tokayev emphasized the significance of the country’s partnership with NVIDIA, highlighting Kazakhstan’s commitment to becoming an AI-driven nation. He pointed out that the year 2026 has been designated as the Year of Digitalisation and Artificial Intelligence in Kazakhstan, underscoring the national priority placed on these sectors.
Huang praised Kazakhstan’s aspirations and suggested that the country’s energy resources and pool of skilled professionals in science, mathematics, and technology make it well-suited for AI development. He elaborated on the concept of physical AI, which merges artificial intelligence with real-world applications such as robotics, autonomous machines, and industrial equipment.
In addition to discussing potential developments, Huang commended the progress of NVIDIA’s collaboration with local technology companies, describing the partnership as the beginning of a long-term relationship. Notably, NVIDIA is working with technology firm Higgsfield, further cementing its commitment to the region.
As a mark of appreciation for Huang’s contributions to the development of artificial intelligence in Kazakhstan, President Tokayev awarded him the Order of Dostyk. This gesture reflects the growing cooperation between the Kazakh government and NVIDIA in advancing AI technologies.
