Turkey Demands Global Action After Israeli Airstrikes in Syria

Türkiye has strongly criticized Israeli military actions in southern Syria, claiming that these attacks infringe upon Syria’s sovereignty and pose a threat to the stability of the region. The Turkish Foreign Ministry has stated that the strikes, which targeted areas in Quneitra and Daraa, are in violation of Syria’s territorial integrity and contravene international law, as well as the 1974 Separation of Forces Agreement.

According to Turkish officials, these actions by Israel could exacerbate already dire humanitarian conditions, endanger civilian lives, and undermine ongoing efforts to bring stability to the war-torn country. They have urged the international community to take decisive action to prevent further escalation and to discourage any future attacks that might heighten regional tensions.

Communications Director Burhanettin Duran added his voice to the criticism, asserting that the strikes not only threaten Syria’s security but also jeopardize efforts towards achieving long-term peace in the Middle East. His remarks reflect Türkiye’s concern over the potential ramifications of continued military aggression in the area.

Emphasizing Türkiye’s stance, officials reiterated their commitment to supporting Syria’s unity, sovereignty, and territorial integrity. They view these elements as fundamental to ensuring regional security and have called for collective efforts to uphold these principles amid rising tensions.
